Deborah O'Carroll is a freelance copyeditor, book blogger, Bookstagram addict, and secretly an otter. An avid fan of Tolkien and Diana Wynne Jones, you can usually find her lost in a fairytale or scribbling her next fantasy novel--flights of fantasy that shine hope and humor into a world with enough shadows. Her writing has won the Fellowship of Fantasy flash fiction contest, and was a finalist in a Splickety Magazine flash critique session at the Realm Makers 2018 writers conference. She lives in the great state of Texas with her pet bookshelves.

Greetings, Traveler! I'm Deborah O'Carroll—writer, bookwyrm, blogger, punctuation enthusiast, fan of Diana Wynne Jones and J.R.R. Tolkien, avid organizer of bookshelves, and secretly an otter.

I write flights of fantasy and YA speculative fiction—original works and also fairytale retellings—and my greatest dream is to get them published one day soon.

In the meantime, you can sign up for updates and a free flash-fiction fantasy short story, and feel free to look around!

Here and on my two blogs, The Road of a Writer and The Page Dreamer, you'll find thoughts on writing, life, and fantasy, as well as book reviews and other bits of bookwyrmery.

You should also know that I love happy endings, chocolate, lists, all things Celtic, and The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

Questions? Comments? Just want to chat? I love meeting fellow lovers of fantasy, writing, and general bookwyrmishness, so feel free to contact me!
